Why We Soft Wash Roofs Instead of Pressure Washing
High-pressure washing is the wrong tool for this job. A strong stream can strip the granules that protect asphalt shingles and push water up under the layers. Soft washing takes a gentler approach. We apply a cleaning solution at low pressure, leave it on to keep working on the organic growth. We do not rinse the roof afterward; the rain rinses it off over time. Heavier moss may keep loosening and washing away with the rain over the following weeks.
