Roof Moss & Algae in Ridgefield, WA
Ridgefield’s growth means many newer and established roofs alike face the same PNW moisture cycle. Shaded planes and nearby trees keep surfaces damp; moss and algae follow. Treating growth early is easier than waiting until edges lift or granules wear.
The wetlands and lowlands along the Columbia River west of town add to Ridgefield’s damp, foggy months, so north-facing roof planes can stay wet for days. Older homes near the historic downtown usually have mature trees that shade the roof and drop debris on it. Soft washing kills the moss and algae at the root without the high pressure that wears down shingles.

Soft Wash, Not High Pressure
We avoid high pressure on roofs because it can strip granules and force water under shingles. Soft washing applies solution, dwells, and rinses with care. Stubborn moss may continue to shed with later rain. We protect plants during the job and can provide drone before-and-after images for steep or complex roofs.
Owner Dakota Grindland’s crew also works in Vancouver, Camas, Washougal, and Battle Ground. Add Ridgefield gutter cleaning while we are there. Process background: Vancouver roof soft washing.
