Fog, Mature Trees and Moss
On fall and winter mornings fog settles over the lowlands between Felida and the lake and can hang on until midday. Roofs that never fully dry between showers are exactly where moss takes hold. The north slopes and any section shaded by big maples or firs usually show it first.
Black streaks running down lighter shingles are usually algae. Thick green growth along the eaves and in the valleys is moss, and it holds water against the roof deck if it is left alone.

Soft Washing Tall Felida Rooflines
Many Felida homes are two stories with steep, high gables. Those roofs are no place for scraping or a pressure washer, which can strip granules and drive water under the shingles. A soft wash applies the cleaning solution at low pressure, lets it work, and lets the rain finish loosening the dead moss over the next few weeks.
Since moss keeps falling after treatment, many owners book gutter cleaning afterward so the debris does not clog the downspouts.
Felida homeowners often pair this with pressure washing in Felida, house soft washing in Felida, driveway cleaning in Felida, patio and deck cleaning in Felida and gutter cleaning in Felida. For the full process, see roof soft washing in Vancouver, WA.
